Japanese Sushi

November 24, 2017

We had presented a workshop to introduce Japanese food culture and sushi to our local secondary schools.

First, the representative of Sakura-kai introduced Omikoshi (Japanese shrine) to the students.
As the students started to show more interest in Japanese culture, the chief began the workshop to introduce Japanese food culture.

We hope for more people to experience and to have an interest in Japanese cultural food.
This event was organized by the chiefs and students had the hands-on experience to make sushi rolls.

The students showed much interest in the presentation topics such as food storage and facts regarding sushi.
After the presentation, the students had hands-on experience in rolling sushi.
The students had lots of rice stuck on their hands but they seemed to have fun. Their smiles left a positive impression.
